Interviews, Stories, Experimental Productions & More
Place Your Bets and Take Your Shots was an interview I did with an 82 year old pool player. He disccuses some of his favorite memories learning how to shot pool and some of his favorite wins. This was filmed during the pandemic and produced entirely by me. It also was the first interview I had every filmed and edited.
The Road Carved Alone is a project that I really love. It allowed me to really grasp the vibrancy of the fall colors. Experimenting with the sound design in this project was so fun and creatively fulfilling. I was able to fully scope the atmosphere with the nature sound bites. This project was done during the height of the pandemic and was the first fulling produced narrative that I have made. Learning to capture sound bites, Experimenting with camera angles and shots were all learning lessons for me. I had a strong desire to really film something outside because I was indoors so much. This short narrative came out so well and I’m so proud of it.
For this project I was tasked with partnering with a classmate and producing a PSA for a client. We worked with Manhattan College’s school newspaper The Quadrangle. They requested that the video included information on their recent return to print and the location of the copies. They also wanted us to advise their weekly meetings in an effort to recruit more members.
This project means a lot to me because I think the topic of sexual assault and violence is an important conversation to have. I wanted this story to spread awareness and focus on community growth. I interviewed some of the committee members and learned so much about the movement. I filmed this interview on my own and using a Sony 4k camera.
Warning to viewers the following contains sensitive topics about sexual assault and violence that might be difficult for some individuals.
In A Crane Life, I sat down with a group of young Black college women, to discuss their experiences living in New York City in 2021. These women spoke on the pressures of academic life, finances, social pressures, and their personal lives. They mentioned the coping mechanisms they use while living in a city that never holds still.
This video takes inspiration from the song Cranes in the Sky by Solange.
